Over the years, I have had the privilege of meeting many producers, visiting wineries, walking through vineyards, and tasting wines at every stage of their life. First as a producer and later as an importer, I have built relationships that have often become much more than simple business connections. And it is through these relationships that, every now and then, I discover something special.

A tank, a barrel, a small lot that may not yet have a name or a label, but that tells you something from the very first taste.

It might be a wine from an exceptional vintage, a small production still resting in the cellar, or simply a lot that, for any number of reasons, a producer has decided not to bottle under their own label. When I find one of these wines and believe it truly has something to say, I select it. These are not necessarily wines from my own vineyards. They are my selections: wines discovered through years of relationships, travels, tastings, and friendships within the wine world.

This is how The Wild Boar was born

A project created to bottle these small discoveries while, at the same time, supporting the producers I work with—especially when they find themselves with more wine than they can bring to market.

In Tuscany, the wild boar has always been part of the landscape.

You find it in the woods, along country roads, and among the vineyards. It is wild, stubborn, unpredictable. It belongs to our land and our culture, although anyone who works in the vineyards knows that it is not always an easy neighbor: it comes at night, eats the grapes, damages the rows, and often leaves more than a few problems behind. Perhaps that is exactly why I chose it. Because this story begins in Tuscany, but above all, it comes from the way I experience wine.

And there is a little irony in this story that I particularly like.

For once, instead of the wild boar taking something away from the vineyard, The Wild Boar gives something back to those who cultivate it.
Every bottle begins this way: with an encounter, a tasting, and a wine that was simply too good to leave behind.
A personal selection, without too many rules.
Just like the wild boar.
